Practice Areas

Mr. Brewer launched his legal career with the international law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP in its Houston office, specializing in the area of commercial real estate. Desiring to focus his practice upon local real estate development and decrease work related travel, Mr. Brewer moved to Porter & Hedges, LLP, and developed a niche practice in the areas of real estate development, financing, and leasing. This experience with Houston’s premier law firms serves David well as his practice has expanded to touch upon other property and business related areas of law while still growing his thriving real estate practice.

Because Mr. Brewer’s real estate clients often needed to form business entities to hold real property, David became adept at forming Partnerships, Limited Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, S-Corporations and C-Corporations. Additionally, Mr. Brewer has often advised clients who are buying or selling a business or who are involved in a business dispute. Whether a sole proprietorship or a more sophisticated business entity, your organization represents years of hard work and successful efforts, and its legal needs deserve the best efforts of a competent attorney.

Probate is the court process whereby one’s will is proven to be either valid or invalid, although in common usage the term often refers to other matters pertaining to administration of estates and guardianships. Because all this really amounts to is the transfer of one’s property in a legally recognized manner, this area is a natural extension of Mr. Brewer’s roots in real estate and business law, and has become one of his core areas of practice.

Additionally, Will and Trust law is the process of planning for the orderly (and financially sound) transfer of one’s property upon the occurrence of certain key life events. One need not (and often should not) wait until death for the formation of a trust, and MUST not wait until death for the drafting of a will (by then it is too late). While planning to avoid estate taxes is not the need of every client, drafting a will most certainly is. Mr. Brewer can assist you in this process whatever your state in life may be.
